I particularly focus on modern analytical chemistry techniques and specialize in spectroscopy (UV-VIS, FTIR, FLS) and separation science (Agilent GC-MS, HPLC/ LC-MS). I am the Departmental Safety Coordinator, hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety (Pass with Credit), have led a number of innovative H&S projects and delivered complex projects with a variety of stakeholders on budget and to urgent deadlines.
I also have a PhD in Chemistry, my thesis focussed on Chalcone derivatives in cancer research and tissue engineering. This included utilising analytical techniques such as NMR, IR, MS and HPLC.
